100% Tempranillo from Rioja, aged 16–18 months in new French and American oak, intense, ripe, with black fruit, spices and smooth tannins, a wine with character to enjoy with meats, roasts or a special occasion.
Sierra Cantabria Colección Privada 2023 is a red wine from the DOCa Rioja made from 100% Tempranillo sourced from the old Los Terreros and Jararte vineyards, both over 50 years old, located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Respectful viticulture is practiced, with minimal intervention; the harvest is manual in crates, with selection both in the vineyard and on the sorting table. Vinification combines destemming of 50% of the grapes with whole clusters and an 11-day pre-fermentation maceration. It ferments with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature and then undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrel. The aging lasts 16–18 months in new barrels, half French oak and half American oak. The result: a full-bodied and slightly ripe wine, with intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and plums, and subtle notes of vanilla and spices derived from the wood. On the palate it is balanced, with well-integrated tannins, firm structure, and a long persistent finish, ideal for those seeking character, depth, and expression of terroir.
