Gratallops Vi de Vila by Álvaro Palacios is an elegant, mineral Priorat made primarily from Garnacha and Cariñena grown in licorella soils. Intense and refined, it combines ripe fruit, Mediterranean herbs, and spicy notes with a fresh, silky palate and great depth.
Gratallops Vi de Vila is one of Álvaro Palacios’s most representative expressions in Priorat, a wine that reflects the historic and mineral character of the village of Gratallops. Made mainly from Garnacha and Cariñena from vineyards planted on terraces and slopes of licorella, it is born from a careful selection of plots worked with the utmost respect for the landscape and the identity of the land.
The harvest is carried out by hand, and the winemaking aims to preserve all the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir. Aging in wood brings complexity and depth without concealing the fresh, elegant, and mineral profile that defines the winery’s style.
On the nose, it stands out for its intense aromas of ripe red and black fruit, Mediterranean herbs, wildflowers, and delicate mineral and spicy notes. On the palate, it is silky, fresh, and very well balanced, with fine tannins, great depth, and a long, elegant finish marked by Priorat’s characteristic minerality.
A refined, food-friendly wine, ideal to pair with meats, Mediterranean cuisine, stews, and aged cheeses.
