WS:02 The Long & Short of It Innovation in Scotch Whisky
Some say there is nothing new in Scotch whisky, but WS:02 The Long & Short of It proves otherwise. Created by The Borders Distillery Company, this whisky belongs to the exclusive Workshop Series, where experimentation with fermentation times has resulted in a unique and balanced expression.
For its production, the master distillers worked with two extreme fermentations: one very short at 55 hours and another very long at 150 hours, achieving exceptional aromatic complexity. Both were distilled twice and matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, before being blended with a single grain, bringing smoothness and structure to the whole.
The result is a no-age-statement blended Scotch whisky, with an aromatic profile that balances sweet and spicy notes with the freshness and depth characteristic of the series. Bottled at 40% ABV and chill-filtered, its smoothness and accessibility make it an ideal choice both for connoisseurs and for those wishing to explore new facets of whisky.
