Rita Hetvin is a singular fortified wine from Ribera del Duero, produced by Bodegas MN from the Tinta Fina (Tempranillo) variety. Its name combines a reference to the Rita site with the Norwegian term hetvin, meaning sweet wine. Fermentation is naturally halted by the addition of wine alcohol, preserving around 90 g/l of residual sugar that gives it its luscious and balanced character. After aging for one year in oak barrels, the wine displays an intense cherry color with mahogany highlights, aromas of raisined fruit, cocoa, and liqueur notes, and a dense, warm, and persistent palate with a long, harmonious finish. A rarity within Ribera del Duero, combining technique, sweetness, and elegance.
