Pago de Otazu is a red wine from the D.O.P. Pago de Otazu made from a blend of 61% Merlot and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon from hand-harvested grapes. It faithfully reflects the terroir of Otazu under the influence of the Atlantic climate, which brings freshness and balance to its structure.
It displays a deep cherry red color. On the nose it is complex, with notes of ripe red and black fruit, spicy nuances, and an elegant floral touch. On the palate it combines volume and finesse, with polished tannins, good acidity, and a balanced passage that culminates in a persistent finish. Ageing for eight months in French oak barrels brings subtlety and integration without concealing its fruity expression.
It is ideal to accompany roasts, grilled meats and fish, rice dishes, cheese boards, pâtés, and Iberian cured meats.
