Mauro is the iconic wine of Bodegas Mauro, made in Tudela de Duero from old vineyards on clay-limestone soils. Aged for 16 months in foudres and French oak barrels, it stands out for its aromatic intensity, silky texture, and great elegance. A deep, balanced, and persistent wine with great gastronomic versatility.
Mauro is the emblematic wine of Bodegas Mauro, the project founded in 1980 by Mariano García in Tudela de Duero, in the very heart of the Duero Valley. Made from vineyards with an average age of 35 years, rooted in clay-limestone soils, this wine represents the balance between elegance, depth, and expression of the terroir that has defined the winery’s philosophy since its beginnings.
After a careful selection of the grapes, the wine is aged for 16 months in foudres and French oak barrels of different ages, bringing complexity and refinement without concealing the identity of the fruit.
On the nose, it stands out for its great aromatic intensity and an exotic, elegant expression, with notes of ripe black fruit, spices, Mediterranean herbs, and delicate toasted hints. On the palate, it is energetic, silky, and persistent, with perfectly polished tannins and a great sense of balance and depth.
A gastronomic, elegant wine with great ageing potential, ideal to accompany red meats, game, roasts, and aged cheeses.
