100% Mencía from old vines in Bierzo. A fresh and juicy red, with ripe black fruit, soft tannins, and balanced acidity. A versatile wine with a pronounced Atlantic character.
Petit Pittacum is the fresh, Atlantic expression of Bierzo Mencía. Made from 100% Mencía sourced from small plots of old vines, many of them over a hundred years old, located on east- and north-facing slopes, on deep clay soils with great water-retention capacity.
The harvest is carried out by hand in small crates, with careful bunch selection at the winery. After destemming, fermentation takes place over approximately 15 days at a controlled temperature, with gentle punch-downs and pump-overs that allow for selective extraction, preserving the fruit and varietal elegance to the fullest.
On the nose it is intense and expressive, with a predominance of ripe black fruit and subtle floral notes. On the palate it is fleshy and juicy, with soft tannins, good structure, and balanced acidity that brings freshness and persistence.
A versatile, food-friendly red that faithfully reflects the Atlantic character of Bierzo.
