Casa Aurora Poula 2021 is a unique single-vineyard wine made by Germán Blanco (Quinta Milú) in the Bierzo Alto area, as part of the Casa Aurora project, a tribute to his great-grandmother Aurora García and to the winemaking tradition of La Villa de Albares. This wine was born from the desire to recover old vineyards and the way things were done in the past, through organic viticulture, without the use of herbicides or fertilizers.
Poula is a singular plot located on high-altitude slopes, where the combination of landscape, soil, aspect, and varietal diversity gives rise to a wine with its own identity. It is made from Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera, Portuguesa (Trousseau), and approximately 40% white varieties such as Palomino, Godello, and Doña Blanca, vinified to preserve their full expression.
The result is a very limited-production wine—hardly ever exceeding 1,000 bottles—that stands out for its complexity, finesse, and Atlantic character. Expressive, elegant, and profound, it authentically reflects the highest and wildest Bierzo.
