This young and vibrant cognac is lightly woody and delicately fruity, making it the perfect cognac to enjoy mixed with soda or sparkling water. A great example of VS Cognac, and if you have not yet discovered the Merlet range, this would be a fabulous introduction.

Merlet VS Cognac is a great example of blending at this quality level. It is composed of eaux-de-vie from different terroirs of the region, something done specifically to ensure consistent quality. Most of the blend comes from the Fins Bois region, with the rest from Bons Bois and Petite Champagne. Aged for a minimum of two years, this is a young yet balanced blend that will delight both connoisseurs and newcomers to the world of cognac. Maison Merlet has been producing cognac since 1850 and was founded by Gilles’s grandfather, Firmit Merlet. Located in the village of Saint Sauvant, the estate has earned recognition from connoisseurs since its humble beginnings, as Monsieur Merlet even won a gold medal for his cognac at the 1900 Exposition Universelle. With its holdings spread across the Fins Bois and Borderies terroirs, the family works with a number of winegrowers to source and distill eaux-de-vie from crus throughout the region, using the family’s ancestral expertise to create award-winning and exciting cognacs.
