Nikka From The Barrel is a Japanese blended whisky launched by Nikka in 1985, conceived to offer the full flavor and richness that only a master blender can detect directly from the barrel.
It is crafted by marrying more than 100 batches of malt and grain whiskies, sourced mainly from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries, and after blending the liquid undergoes a period of cask marriage to harmonize its components.
Bottled at 51.4% ABV and in a 50 cl format, it stands out for its intense and compact character.
On the nose it reveals floral tones (lilac), ripe fruit (peach, apricot), spices (clove), and wood.
On the palate it is powerful, full-bodied, with a spicy opening, notes of candy, apple, vanilla, and a background of oak.
The finish is long and complex, with ripe fruits, warm spices, and an elegant hint of vanilla and oak.
