Dominio de Calogía 2020 is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero made from Tempranillo grown in high-altitude vineyards in the La Horra area. Signed by José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, in his most personal project after his time at Viña Pedrosa, this first vintage has been very highly rated by critics.
Fermented in small tanks and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, it shows a perfect combination of power, freshness, and elegance. On the nose it is deep and expressive, with notes of ripe black fruit, fine spices, graphite, and floral hints. On the palate it is structured, silky, and persistent, with polished tannins and a long finish that speaks of its great ageing potential.
An author’s wine, precise and contemporary, which from its very first vintage already points to becoming a benchmark of the new Ribera del Duero.
