Cherry red in color with violet notes, its aging is reflected in the brick and amber hues at the rim. On the nose, it stands out for its subtlety, with aromas of ripe fruit, spices such as vanilla and cinnamon, and a hint of coffee or toast. On the palate it is fleshy, with a long finish, balanced acidity, and soft tannins that fill the palate with pleasant sensations.
Carmelo Rodero Reserva is a red wine with D.O. Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Rodero. The winery is located in Pedrosa de Duero (Burgos). Carmelo Rodero Reserva is made from the Tinta del País (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) varieties. The grapes come from old vineyards over 30 years old belonging to the 80 hectares the winery owns across Pedrosa de Duero, Boada de Roa, Roa, and Mambrilla de Castrejón.
Carmelo Rodero Reserva is made in the traditional way. The ageing process, meanwhile, lasts 21 months in French oak barrels. Finally, it spends a further 24 months in bottle to fully round out.
