Deep cherry red color. It shows a subtle nose with ripe, juicy fruit and delicate lactic notes, noble woods, spices, and cherries in liqueur, over a suggestive and evocative background. On the palate it is structured and fine, while at the same time intense.
Wine made from grapes grown at the El Puntido Estate, a 25-hectare property located in Páganos-Laguardia, at an altitude of 600 meters. The soil is loam-clay in texture and clay-limestone in composition, which contributes to its unique character. Planted in 1975, the vineyard is managed using integrated farming techniques and organic fertilization, with a high planting density and low yield per hectare to maximize grape quality. Vinification follows a traditional method using destemmed grapes, with a pre-fermentation maceration at 6ºC for 5 days and gentle pump-overs with slight aeration, facilitating natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts. After a 9-day post-fermentation maceration with the skins, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. Finally, it is aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels, followed by 6 months in tank, giving it balanced structure and complexity.
